The Book of Stories
Yesterday, I heard an addiction recovery story that bore a hole in my soul to the truth. An exceptionally beautiful woman – restored to life; so akin in character to my own son, Dylan, who passed away from an overdose in 2017.
Risk-taker, rebellious, and remarkably soulful.
I left our meeting gathering the remanences of truth in pieces at my feet. “Why not my kid?” My soul heaved for the next few hours until there was little left.
Gently, Dylan’s stepfather, Troy-suggested I pick up the book I had submitted a story to and to be reminded of the wondrous gifts God has bestowed upon me that have delivered me from initial thoughts of suicide to states of grace.
God bless the day I met Roxanna Carrothers, the author of “THE BOOK OF STORIES” who after the loss of her own son wrote 3 profound books highlighting her personal journey, starting with “TRUDGING THROUGH THE VALLEY OF GRIEF”; from agony to hope. Her footsteps giving strength to my own walk and to the DAVID DYLAN FOUNDATION.
Included in her following 2 books – “GOD’S PANACEA” and the newly published “BOOK OF STORIES”, are a collection of experiences of how others can find enlightenment by a God big enough to hold their pain and the eminent truth that this life on earth is not the end.
A book about inextinguishable love, giving life to faith through the gift of signs and miracles that are accessible to all of us.
I have been so honored to co-author this book and manage the promotion.
